A 2500hp V16 Caterpillar marine engine, overhauled by Watts Engineering to pass survey to Lloyds inspection, has been operating in full service for the past 3 years.
It required the machining out of the seized main bearing cap bolts, the manufacture of special inserts to fit into the block and the refitting of new cap bolts. These were then torqued up to manufacturer’s specifications.
