The propeller had damage to its boss and taper. Our welding procedures repaired the boss and taper ready for accurate machining to original tolerances. The locking plate bolt holes were re-machined and threaded prior to our refitting the propeller to the tug.

The tug has been involved in significant off-shore towing. Five years after the repair it was still passing survey.

Watts engineering have the tooling to easily handle propellers like this of 1.8m diameter, and 400mm dia. shafts 8m in length.
